Newsletter - what’s up this month?
Hey There!
Thanks for checking out my upcoming classes and musical events. In August, I’m participating in 2 benefits - the annual fundraiser for Coalition to Unchain Dogs, and I’m helping organize a Defending the Gulf video screening and fundraiser at The Pinhook in Durham- please come out!…. Also, Triangle Soundpainting Orchestra will be playing on the CCB Plaza for FREE. In September, I’m starting my fall workshops. There’s some good stuff - keep reading to find out more about Sonic Massage and the Heartbeat Meditation, and The Language of Empowerment (being with and supporting friends and loved ones in good times and bad.)
Sincerely,
Artist, musician, and peer support specialist Shannon Morrow

What’s up for the next couple months
August
- August 20, 6-8pm, CCB Plaza in Downtown Durham (by the bull near the intersection of Corcoran and Chapel Hill Sts). Triangle Soundpainting Orchestra will participate in an multi-arts evening sponsored by Music Explorium and Durham Parks and Recreation. “Everything is Music” is the theme - if there is any slogan TSPO can do justice to, this might be it. Read more about the whole evening by clicking here.
- August 28, 7-8pm, Durham Farmer’s Market Pavilion, 500 block of Foster St., Durham, NC 27701. I’ll be bringing my NEW, FABULOUS, HOMEMADE DRUMS AND PERCUSSION (primarily repurposed junk, I might add) and leading kids and adults in INSTANT! JAMMING. Everyone is encouraged to come out and support The Coalition to Unchain Dogs at their annual fundraiser - I LOVE dogs - got three rescues of my own, so I can really get behind any group working to create health and happiness for our furry friends! Find out more about the benefit at: www.unchaindogs.net
- August 29, 7-10pmish, The Pinhook, 117 Main St., Durham, NC. RALLY AROUND EFFORTS TO CREATE CLEAN, HEALTHY WATERS FOR THE GULF AND FOR EVERYONE! Defending the Gulf DVD screening party and fundraiser for Gulf Restoration Network! There will be a documentary screening about the Gulf Disaster, a little talk about how we can help, followed by music and INSTANT! JAMMING for all…. no kidding - let’s have some fun, get educated, and bring a little cash to throw in the donation pot. Okay, so I spearheaded this one because I love dolphins and oceans, and water, and eco-systems, and nutrients, and life….and so on….Read more about what’s happening at the event here
September and OctoberIn September Triangle Soundpainting Orchestra will appear at Spark Con’s composer’s showcase in Raleigh on September 18. Also, I’ll be bringing my Instant! Jam Station and facilitating a recovery oriented drum circle at the Recovery Celebration Block Party on September 24. More details in next month’s newsletter. Below are some workshops for September and October that I am thrilled to offer!
