Shannon’s Drum Diary #2 - bucket beat

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Who needs a drumset? With a bucket and a little distortion courtesy of my webcam microphone, I play a funky beat on a paint bucket. Using a pneumonic, I demonstrate how to play a simple funky beat using the middle and the rim of a paint bucket. I speed up a little here and there - YOU should not do that.

Well, this was just a test, but it actually came out better than the “funky beat” lesson because it I wasn’t “on the spot” so to say. Anyway, it’s an example of how much fun you can have without a fancy drum set.
